Funeral

One year ago today.

Hard to believe.

What I said about it: http://supermansamuel.blogspot.com/2013/12/distracted.html

The only thing we can do now is work as hard as we can to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen to any other family. Ever. Donations are still being matched as we work toward one million dollars. For Sammy. For so many others....

I love how the rabbis and cantor comfort each other during the service. It shows not just how Sammy was loved and his loss felt by everyone but also how you've got yourselves a really supportive, caring community. Not that you need me to tell you this, but what I mean is, it's obvious even to a stranger.

I told the "so she had the baby in a sukkah?" story to my mother-in-law recently and she thought it was marvelous and charming. Your boy lives on in more ways than you could probably have imagined.
